The Flower Shop is an independently owned and operated web shop featuring a curated assortment of nascent lifestyle brands and artists. It was founded as platform for its flagship brands, Odet Studio and Tomo objects.
Designed as a shared creative platform by two friends, Matthew Anderson and Jesse Lee Wilson. In simplistic terms it is an e-commerce site. But it is also, crucially, a public-facing liminal venue allowing us to share, test, and further develop our work. Flexible and meandering, The Flower Shop offers every creative endeavor an outlet, a central link back to its source as it reaches for the sun, and an audience. After all, flowers should be shared.
Founded by designer Matthew Anderson, Odet began as a creative challenge to self: design one T-shirt a month for 12 months.
"Tomo" has multiple meanings and origins throughout different language traditions, it is the Japanese word for "friend" (友) or "companion" (共), and is also a Spanish word for "volume" or "book". In Greek, "τόμος” is a combined form meaning "cut" or "slice ”….Friendship, Knowledge & a Division of shapes…seem to be its common character.
What is it to Enhance Life? What does that look like? Could it be a life that is harvesting gratitude and presence of being…a life that is comfortable with all the pain and pleasures here on this planet in the company of friends or one’s own soul? Could an object support this activity in some way?
